Responsible business

Moving forward with care

A good night's sleep starts with a supply chain you can trust. That's why we're committed to a more responsible way of creating our products, with care for people, animals and nature.

We believe that true quality is the foundation of a more sustainable way of living.

Every choice matters

Responsible business isn't a destination for us – it's the way we work. From design to delivery, we make conscious choices: better materials, cleaner processes and transparent partnerships. Step by step, we're building a supply chain that feels right from beginning to end.

Taking care of our supply chain

Every year, we carefully assess how and where our products are made. We identify potential risks relating to working conditions, the environment and animal welfare, and work closely with our partners to drive continuous improvements.

We follow internationally recognised OECD Guidelines and publicly disclose our production locations through Open Supply Hub under the name Essenza Home. This helps us keep our supply chain fair, transparent and accountable.

Our focus in four areas

  1. Transparency. We know where, how and by whom our products are made.
  2. Circularity. Less waste, more reuse.
  3. People. Fair working conditions and equal opportunities.
  4. Environment. Less water, fewer emissions and less waste.

Stronger together

We work with national and international initiatives, including the Thuiswinkel Sustainability Certification and Germany’s Partnership for Sustainable Textiles. This allows us to keep learning and improving as we work step by step towards a fairer textile industry.

We will also soon be joining the Dutch Agreement for Sustainable Garments, Textiles and Footwear.

Our considered material choices

We carefully select materials that are better for people and the environment. Our ambition is to gradually introduce more responsible fibres across all our collections, without compromising on quality or comfort.

Cotton is our most important raw material, which is why we focus on more responsible alternatives such as organic and recycled cotton. We also use innovative fibres of natural origin, including ECOVERO™ viscose and lyocell, made from responsibly sourced wood pulp.

We work exclusively with independent certifications that verify the origin and quality of our materials:

Organic cotton (GOTS-certified)

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) guarantees that the cotton meets strict environmental and social criteria, from plant to finished product. Every stage of the supply chain, from grower to weaver, is certified.

Recycled cotton (GRS-certified)

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certifies that a product contains at least 50% recycled fibres. It also ensures responsible social practices and environmentally conscious processing throughout the production chain.

ECOVERO™ viscose

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ is a viscose fibre made from wood sourced from FSC®- or PEFC-certified forests. Its production process uses significantly less water and energy than conventional viscose. The fibres are fully traceable.

Lyocell

Lyocell is a fibre made from wood pulp and produced in a closed-loop process, where water and solvents are almost entirely recovered and reused. It is a more responsible alternative to conventional cotton or synthetic fibres.

Modal

Modal is a silky-soft fibre made from beech wood, often sourced from responsibly managed forests. It is produced using a process that requires less water and energy than conventional cotton, making it a more responsible choice.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

Almost all of our products are certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. This means that every component, from the yarn to the buttons and zips, has been tested for harmful substances. So you can sleep with complete peace of mind.
