ESSENZA Tesse Duvet cover Zen blue

Tesse is a decorative ornamental print. Ornaments, or ‘versierselen’ as they were known in the 17th-century Netherlands, were commonly used at the time. Ornamental shapes were characterised by stylisation, symmetry or the repetition of a motif, all three of which are clearly visible in this Tesse print. The original of this print is an etching dating back to 1817 from the Rijksmuseum archives. On this duvet cover, the Tesse design is positioned as a panel print with side panels in a different colour. As a finishing touch, the edges of this duvet cover and pillowcases are trimmed with piping. Turn the Tesse duvet over to discover a subtle two-tone wavy pattern.
