  1. What is cotton linen?

    What is cotton linen?

Linen is a durable and natural fabric. This beautiful 'creased fabric' gives a casual and natural look to your bedroom and is wonderfully strong. Linen can sometimes feel a bit rough, which is why we combine linen with soft cotton for our duvet covers. A natural look, durable and soft. What more could you want?

    Linen, A Sustainable Choice

Linen is 3x as strong as cotton, so a linen or cotton-linen duvet cover lasts much longer than cotton bedding. Linen is also an environmentally friendly material. It is made from the flax plant, which is a lot less invasive for the environment than growing and processing cotton. This natural substance can regulate heat very well, making it feel cool in summer and allowing it to retain heat in winter.

If you have not been introduced to this new fabric, we are delighted to tell you more about it in this blog post!

    What is the fabric Lyocell?

This is a pretty technical story, but we will try to explain it to you. Lyocell is usually made from fast-growing eucalyptus trees, but oaks and birches can also be used. After harvest, the wood is cut into small pieces, ground into pulp, and then dissolved by the substance amine oxide. What remains is raw cellulose which is then pushed through spinnerets which have very small holes through which the solution is forced, coming out in continuous strands. After this these white lyocell fibers are spun into yarn and eventually

  7. It is All About the Thread Count

It is All About the Thread Count

During your search for a new duvet cover, you've probably come across the words 'thread count'. What exactly does this term mean? Below we would like to explain exactly what it means and why it is important to know about it when purchasing a new duvet cover.

    The Warp and the Weft

Duvet covers are made of woven fabrics (usually cotton). In weaving, two different sets of yarn or threads are crossed. The vertical thread is the 'warp' and the horizontal thread that is woven through it is the 'weft' (see the image). The way in which the threads cross each other determines the weave and thus the quality of the fabric.

What Does the Thread Count Mean?

The English term 'thread count' means how many threads are in an inch². The number of threads in the warp and the weft are then added together and this total is called the thread count (TC). The higher the thread count,
